Painting and decorating
Home decorating is something most of us dream about so when we have the chance to start on a painting and decorating project we can create any look we want. Even the simplest decorating jobs can transform your home entirely.
Before you can begin there are some steps that need to be looked at, the first of which is to decide what your decorating project covers. Is this to be an extensive, house-wide overhaul or are you only thinking of painting a few rooms? Once you have the scope of your project you can start listing what you want to do in each room, be it painting, enlarging or furnishing. Now you are ready to list all the materials you’re going to need. It is easier to stick to a budget by buying everything at once rather than running off to the shops each time you need something else. When you are planning your painting and decorating project, factor in plenty of time, sometimes even small jobs can take longer than expected. Without a proper plan and budget in place, home projects somehow never get completed.
If you are not sure this is a job for you alone, then you can hire a decorating professional to help and depending on the scope and size of your job as well as your budget you may want to look for a team of interior decorators and painters to cover all your needs. While a master painter will get all your walls and surfaces looking as you want them, the interior decorator will be in charge of the overall look and feel including sourcing of furniture and finishings. If you have flooring that needs to be redone or specific fittings requirements, you may need to call in a skilled carpenter. Choose a decorator that comes with recommendations from friends, you want to be sure they are going to be able to do the job you want. Be sure to keep yourself involved in the project from beginning to end, as this is, after all, your home.
